Study on Spontaneous Generation of Spiral Wave Induced by NOR Neuron Logic Gate

  • 摘要: 采用Morris-Lecar(ML)神经元模型构造了NOR神经元逻辑门,并将NOR神经元逻辑门植入到二维神经元网络中。当平面波经过网络中的逻辑门区域时,NOR神经元逻辑门诱发螺旋波自发产生,适当增加逻辑门中神经元之间的耦合强度使逻辑门无输出,既可以阻止逻辑门诱发螺旋波,也可以让逻辑门诱发的螺旋波消失。理论分析这些现象背后的物理机制,有助于进一步了解大脑中螺旋波自发产生机制,从而提出有效治疗癫痫疾病的方法。

     

    Abstract: In this paper, the NOR neuron logic gate is constructed by using the Morris-lecar (ML) neuron model, and the NOR neuron logic gate is implanted into the two-dimensional neural network. When plane waves pass through the logic gate region in the network, it is observed that the NOR neuron logic gate induced the spontaneous generation of spiral waves. Appropriately increasing the coupling strength between neurons in logic gate to make the logic gates have no output, which can either prevent the logic gate to induce spiral wave, but also make spiral wave induced by the logic gate disappear. The physical mechanism underlying these phenomena is theoretically analyzed.These research results are helpful for people to grasp the spontaneous generation mechanism of spiral waves in the brain, which is conducive to propose effective method to treat epileptic diseases.
